Until Death Do Us Part

 It is always the extraordinary, the shocking, the unprecedented, the out of the box that stirs up our emotions, our responses,in some cases our thinking, our perspective.

We are now a very civilized, modern , tolerant, open minded, metropolitan people that know better than to judge anyone's personal choices or decisions. Yet, a public figure or a celebrity has to deal with this intrusion of privacy that comes with the territory. This is not the first person in the history of mankind that has resorted to this means of fatherhood. It has becoming increasingly common for both men and women to want to experience parenthood without "the strings of marriage". Our society has come a long way accepting, respecting and in some cases applauding choices made by individuals that are breaking the stereo types. Choices regarding same sex marriages, choices to remain single, choices to live in without the "sanctity of marriage", adoption by single parents, adoption by unmarried woman/man. However all the above choices have been made by individuals that seem to be beyond their control, mutual in nature, or for a larger/greater cause.

Fatherhood without marriage and even more so without a mother is definitely a big one !!

 

After all a child without a mother is the biggest tradgedy that one can imagine. The worst that nature can bestow upon a child. A mishap,a tradgedy, a travesty of fate. Then how can one make this a conscious choice ? To answer this we have to completely erase any notions, any assumptions,any barriers that are such an integral part of our upbringing, our culture, our values, our world the way we are used to seeing it. We have to start at the very beginning of evolution.

 

God has only given a woman the power to conceive and bring a life into this world. This is a FACT.

However, she cannot do this Alone. This is also a FACT. So in essence only both and only a man and woman can do this TOGETHER. One can argue the entire purpose of this union is to procreate. Everything else including the attraction, the lust, the institution of marraige is to facilitate this nature's marvel. Probably the one feat that still science has not been able to replicate, the very essence of the universe, the only meaning of the cosmic and non cosmic existence as found in almost every religious text, mythology,scientology and any theory related to evolution or existence of life.

While the mysteries of the birth of Karna, 100 kauravas, Sita and many more in various religions is left to interpretations and comparisions to medical advances like invitro fertilization, the one and only truth is still evasive and largely controversial.
