There's more to the world than US !! There was this me There was this you There was this you There was this me There was this "us" We thought the sun rose and set Just for "us" We thought the flowers bloomed Just for "us" We thought the birds sang Just for "us" We thought all beings except us were made to serve "us" We thought the moon and stars shine bright to eternally light "us" We thought the mountains, the forests, the ocean, the planets, the skies above and the ground below was all made Just for "us" We thought only we could think whats good for "us" whats bad for "us" We prayed to the Almighty Just for "us" We fought for "us" We loved for "us" We lived for "us" We would die for "us" The universe watched The time clocked and suddenly something said It's not only you and you and you and you There...

PERCEPTION When you play the game of deception in the name of perfection to create a false perception...... When you let others perceive what you truly otherwise believe..... When you let the mirrors of the outside world decide how you should look, how you should feel..... When filters, transplants, concealers are dependencies you quietly steal.... When fake smiles, pouts, hugs and kisses are gestures of making up for what your heart really misses.... When the show of intellect and success is a cover up of inadequacy and feeling less....... When you need to feel high at all times to face the low even sometimes..... It's time to realize my friend this game is reaching it's end !! The truth is we are not invincible, unstoppable, unageable, Life itself is not unfailable !! We are just us,each unique, beautiful and marvelous !! It's time to realize my friend looks, fame, fortune nothing lasts forever Time is the most powerful game...

It is always the extraordinary, the shocking, the unprecedented, the out of the box that stirs up our emotions, our responses,in some cases our thinking, our perspective. "Karan Johar becomes father of twins by surrogate mother". We are now a very civilized, modern , tolerant, open minded, metropolitan people that know better than to judge anyone's personal choices or decisions. Yet, a public figure or a celebrity has to deal with this intrusion of privacy that comes with the territory. This is not the first person in the history of mankind that has resorted to this means of fatherhood. It has becoming increasingly common for both men and women to want to experience parenthood without "the strings of marriage". Our society has come a long way accepting, respecting and in some cases applauding choices made by individuals that are breaking the stereo types. Choices regarding same sex marriages, choices to remain single, choices to live in without th...

Had I been writing this blog a year back, it would have been very different. It would have been a mad, scary, frustrated and angry blog. After a year plus of acclimatization to Indian roads, vehicles, people, attitude and of course the law of the land (or lack of), this will be a humorous reading. Like FB where you only see pretty selfies, nice family pics and profound thoughts and like Yash Chopra movies that makes more enjoyable watching.....this blog will make more enjoyable reading. So the basic Funda (fundamental....Mumbai lingo plz) is I AM THE KING OF THE ROAD !!! Whether you are a pedestrian, a two - wheeler rider, four - wheeler, bus/ truck driver or whatever Gen next is coming up with, if this is your mantra, you are good. I mean safe. DO NOT try to be the boring rule abiding, law following civil driver as there are no rules in driving. At least not in India. The only rule is IMTKOTR (see title). Lets start from the very beginning....... the right way ...

I rarely watch the news everyday as it is plain scary. Yet I need my information and so am compelled to watch at least once a week or so. So today's headlines news(no exaggeration whatsoever) : 1. 20 kids die in a school in Bihar due to food poisoning. As per the report these kids died after consuming food provided by the school that contained high level of some foreign substance ???? (probably insecticide).Doctors and officials took the incidence lightly and did not react promptly. Parents will receive 2 lakhs as compensation. For those living in urban India, 2 lacs does not even buy you a small car or cover your 6 months expenses. This is in Bihar and everyone knows Bihar is a jungle with no law. 2.4 girls raped in Uttarakhand in a hostel (Jharkhand school). The school/hostel is a shed facility looks like a series of huts. Girls were dragged out, principal and teachers locked and tied and girls raped. The parents want the culprits to be hanged. This is a Adivasi...
A little perspective

So here I am settling in Pune and loving the journey back home. Nothing surprises me or shocks me greatly as I am not so new to this environment. I lived in India, in Mumbai for 26 years of my life and was lucky to have enough exposure to the city with all it's beauty and madness. America has changed me however I can still relate and while things have changed quite dramatically India is still India. Now a little perspective. When I was growing up I went to a local SSC school 5 minutes from home. It was a good school, later I realized it was considered as one of the very best schools in Santacruz. Again, good is so relative in a land of over a 1,241,491,960 people (data from world bank). Not too different from saying North Edison has a good schooling system (as compared to what ?? south edison,Iselin, Metuchen or Central NJ, northern, south or East coast or America). So this is the relativity factor. Remember this is just a elementary/high or even middle school. But lets not take ...

My memories of Holi are quite colourful literally.. When I was a kid about 8-10 yrs old Holi was great. It meant filling water balloons and keeping them in a bucket until it filled it with about 50 different colour and size balloons. It was a lot of hard work as many of them busted while filling, after filling and of course the hardest part knotting them up. We would then carefully then take the bucket downstairs and play Holi with colours and water. We had the pichkari or what we now call water guns and spray on each other. This fun lasted for hours and we would get so tired by the end of it. It was really messy and the colours were not always fun, I still remember some kids would use silver colour which would not get off easily and look horrendous. Also, some would use oil colours which also were hideous. Like anything else you had to choose where and whom to play with. For the most part it was safe and fun. Taking a shower and getting all the colour off was no ordinary feat. It t...
